Facebook just issued an invitation for another of its increasingly rapid product introductions, this time inviting the press to “Come See Our New Home on Android” on April 4.
No word yet precisely what this will be, but not surprisingly, speculation has already begun.
So here I'm gonna put over Four possibilities.
1. A Facebook phone:
Is Facebook going to create an android powered Facebook phone? We have been hearing this for past months that Facebook might make one. An self os with built-in Facebook features like calling and messaging via Facebook, a wallpaper with Facebook feeds, ongoing widget in notification bar giving the spot publishing option and current news feed will definitely make Facebook on another level. This will empower Facebook than from giving something via a simple app and a widget.
But still there are problems. The major os gives Facebook the best integration they could. By making an os and entering the competition with other os is gonna make enmity between them. This might cause to end the integration that Facebook currently get from other os. And I wonder how much people would switch an os just for Facebook. So these factors will make people to move to other social networking services. Now, these services are plenty.
2. A Facebook home launcher:
We all know that android is famous for custom launchers. There are plenty launchers available in play store. The current Facebook title with "a home on android" might be hinting this launcher. The launcher may contain live wallpaper with News feed, a widget with extra features and something great.
3. A Facebook ROM based on android:
This will be a custom ROM enabling all the feature what Facebook phone would give same as what I mentioned above. This would let Facebook to protect from losing integration by other os and they could promote themselves. Anybody can take the zip and flash it on their phone.
4. A redesigned app:
We all know how low rated is the Facebook app. So they might have got an inspiration from the third party Facebook apps along with their ideas. And they might be releasing it on that day as an event. Now the question arises, "why only in android?" Maybe their this app would be made with the flexibility that android give and perhaps only android can give. So, an app with such internallly flexibled app will be such a great one and that's why they might be releasing it as an event.
